  • Install EV stations with support - an invitation to share 20 million euros has been published

    Autumn 2023 brings a record-breaking budget for expanding private electric vehicle charging station networks. A total of €20 million will be distributed between August and December 2023 to encourage private homeowners, property managers, and businesses to install 25,771 charging points.

    If you’re considering installing an EV charging station, here’s key information about what you need to know and where to apply for state support.

    Since the end of 2022, the Lithuanian Energy Agency (LEA) has been announcing calls for applications to install EV charging stations. This autumn's funding round is the second and potentially the largest to date.

    The first application period ran from September 2022 to February 2023, with €12 million allocated to encourage the installation of 15,000 private EV charging stations.

    The second call began in August 2023 and will continue until December or until all allocated funds are used. A total of €20 million is available to facilitate the installation of nearly 26,000 charging stations.

    If you miss this round, the next application period is scheduled for January to June 2024. However, the spring budget is smaller, with only €9 million allocated to support the installation of approximately 11,000 stations.

    As you can see, this season offers the largest funding opportunity, increasing your chances of receiving support to install an EV charging station at your desired location.

    Who Is Eligible for Support?

    As the number of EVs on Lithuanian roads increases, discussions about expanding charging infrastructure are becoming more urgent. The question of "Where can I charge my EV?" should not be met with concern about insufficient charging points.

    To accelerate the transition from polluting vehicles to clean transportation, individuals are being given the opportunity to create infrastructure where it is most needed: at homes, near apartment buildings, and in workplaces. This €20 million autumn fund aims to support areas with the highest population density and potential EV users.

    Support will be provided to:

    • Private individuals looking to install EV charging stations (3.7–11 kW capacity) at their homes or gardens;
    • Private individuals installing EV charging stations (3.7–11 kW capacity) in apartment buildings or their adjacent land;
    • Legal entities managing apartment building common property who want to install EV charging points (7–22 kW capacity) for residents;
    • Public or private legal entities installing EV charging points (7–22 kW capacity) for their employees.

    What Is the Funding Amount Per Station?

    Those installing a charging station with LEA support can expect 30 to 80% reimbursement, depending on the station’s capacity and the applicant’s status, as outlined above.

    Note that funding is only available for the installation of new, unused equipment and related components. It’s crucial to select high-quality, new charging stations from trusted suppliers like Evlaidai.lt.
